Welcome!
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my blog! If you enjoy hand sewing and applique, and are looking for something fun and unique to stitch up, you've come to the right place! All of my pattern instructions are very easy to follow and require basic stitches such as blanket stitch, straight stitch, and french knots. I work mostly with wool and wool felt. The patterns that I have designed are for penny rugs and candle mats. Most are very quick projects with a touch of whimsy. I hope you enjoy your visit and will be one of my faithful followers! God Bless!
You can purchase any of my patterns (instant downloads) by clicking on the photos or go to my web site and purchase the paper patterns there. Thanks for stopping by!

About Me
- Kathy
- New Ipswich, New Hampshire, United States
- I love sewing! I started to hand sew when I was in elementary school. Of course over the years I tried many different crafts. My mom taught me to sew, hand embroider, and knit. My grandmother taught me to crochet. What precious memories I have of those times! As much as I've always loved working with yarn, nothing quite compares to my love of making penny rugs. I stumbled across them on ebay and instantly knew I could design my own and be happy stitching them up forever! As time went on, and they started becoming quite popular, people began asking if I made patterns. Well, I thought I would give it a try, and voila! Penny Lane Primitives was born! At the moment I have 66 designs with about a million more in my head! I recently retired from my job of 21 years in the local elementary school in my small New England town. So now I have more time than ever to devote to my little business! I feel so blessed to be doing what I love!

Long time no blog! My life has been just one big bundle of crazy in the past year! Long story short....I am 'at the moment' a cancer survivor! Yay! Happy New Year to me and to all of you! 2013 is going to be my year and 2012 just a memory of how life can throw some pretty nasty stuff your way. How we deal with it certainly defines the person that we are. My husband has been amazing and for him I am so very thankful. That being said, I just wanted to take a minute and wish all of you a very Happy, HEALTHY, Prosperous, Wonderful New Year!!!! Thanks so much to all of you that have helped to make Penny Lane Primitives successful! I love designing and plan to continue into the New Year and waaayyyy beyond! My newest will be out in a few days...similar to the Holly & Berries design but with a Valentine theme...who doesn't love Love? Very pretty and one I so enjoyed making & I'm certain you will too. Keep watching! God Bless!

I purchased the pattern that you have above - the Holly and Berries one and am just waiting on the hay bale wool to come in. Can't wait to make this for next Christmas!
I love all your penny rug creations and can't wait to see more.
Hugs and God Bless,
