Welcome!
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my blog! If you enjoy hand sewing and applique, and are looking for something fun and unique to stitch up, you've come to the right place! All of my pattern instructions are very easy to follow and require basic stitches such as blanket stitch, straight stitch, and french knots. I work mostly with wool and wool felt. The patterns that I have designed are for penny rugs and candle mats. Most are very quick projects with a touch of whimsy. I hope you enjoy your visit and will be one of my faithful followers! God Bless!
You can purchase any of my patterns (instant downloads) by clicking on the photos or go to my web site and purchase the paper patterns there. Thanks for stopping by!

About Me
- Kathy
- New Ipswich, New Hampshire, United States
- I love sewing! I started to hand sew when I was in elementary school. Of course over the years I tried many different crafts. My mom taught me to sew, hand embroider, and knit. My grandmother taught me to crochet. What precious memories I have of those times! As much as I've always loved working with yarn, nothing quite compares to my love of making penny rugs. I stumbled across them on ebay and instantly knew I could design my own and be happy stitching them up forever! As time went on, and they started becoming quite popular, people began asking if I made patterns. Well, I thought I would give it a try, and voila! Penny Lane Primitives was born! At the moment I have 66 designs with about a million more in my head! I recently retired from my job of 21 years in the local elementary school in my small New England town. So now I have more time than ever to devote to my little business! I feel so blessed to be doing what I love!

I've been working on my ~*JOY*~ Candle Quilt for quite a while! I wasn't sure I would finish it in time to list it on Ebay for Christmas, but I finally did! The auction will end next Sunday, the 18th, and so long as it is paid for quickly it should arrive by Christmas via USPS Priority mail. It's a beauty! 20 inches square and hand stitched using wonderful wools, wool felts, and the background is a sweet, faux tea-stained cotton. Very pretty! If you would like to bid or just watch...click on the photo above...
I may put this one into a pattern after the holidays.
I don't think I'll have much time to blog before the New Year, so Merry Christmas Everyone! God Bless You and Yours in the New Year!!!

Oh I LOVE this one! I hope you do put it in a pattern!
I have just started working with felt so I am a beginner to the MAX. I appreciate your talent and wanted to tell you so. I love buttons, beads and hand sewing and tiny things and hope that this will be my craft. Are you familiar with Salley Mavor's Wee People? That is how good I want to get. Like you I work full time as a junior high guidance counselor so do not have oodles of time but ready to try something new. I am so glad that I found you and your talents.
I'm beginning this pattern. You say to wash and dry the fabrics first? When you say dry- do mean in a dryer? I'd hate to ruin the wool...thanks!
